What is Companion Care?

Companion care is one of many non-medical services we provide for our clients. It can be short or long-term, and serves to provide yourself or your aging loved one with emotional support, friendship, and fulfills your social needs in addition to the assistance with daily tasks that might become more difficult during the aging process.

Why receive companion care?

Aging can get quite lonely. Senior loneliness is, in fact, not uncommon, and is a huge problem among seniors. The social isolation of living alone, combined with the fact that many family members might, at times, become busy with school and work, increases feelings of loneliness. Chronic loneliness can cause adverse effects and issues down the line, such as mental and physical decline.

Our caregivers are trained with expertise and compassion – while they are fully equipped to assist you with the physical strains of aging, they also support clients by being good, empathetic companions. Our caregivers often develop close ties with clients while helping them with various tasks, providing emotional support through much-needed socialization and meaningful connection. Having a familiar face around the house regularly that engages in friendly conversation can have immense positive impacts on seniors’ overall mental and physical health and wellbeing.
